Liability is the legal obligation to compensate for damage caused by an attributable tort or breach of contract. Liability is regulated in liability law.
Types of Liability
Someone can be liable for the damage that he has caused to someone, but someone can also be liable for damage that has been caused by someone else’s actions. The first category concerns debt liability, the second is called risk liability or qualitative liability. Examples of risk liability are parents who are liable for the actions of their child(ren) (if 14 years) and owners of animals who are responsible for the actions of their animal (s).
