What is ICT Law?

Simply said, ICT law concerns all law that relates to the field of ICT. ICT is a sector in which many agreements are concluded. This includes agreements for the development of software and websites, service level agreements, hosting, domain name registrations and processing agreements. Most ICT suppliers also use general terms and conditions and disclaimers. Cloud and SaaS contracts are also of great importance in online environments.

Because ICT is a relatively new area, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the interpretation of agreements. There is, therefore, a lot of discussion in this area where the consultation of a specialized ICT lawyer is a must. What, for example, are the consequences of agile software development? How does the supplier’s duty of care relate to that of a customer? What is the liability of a hosting platform? Is there a possibility for issuing source code without an escrow agreement? Is a notice of default necessary if a SLA has been violated? What damage must be compensated for data leaks?

What do we do?

We handle all legal matters related to ICT. LAWFOX is a specialist in this.

We assist suppliers, buyers and intermediaries across the country. ICT-related matters that often occur are failed automation, non-compliance with ICT agreements (including service level agreements), privacy, intellectual property, domain name disputes and notice and takedown procedures. Typical things we regularly do have to do with copyright on software, ICT contract management, domain name hijacking (cybersquatting) and data leaks.
