‘Privacy Claim Foundation’ (Stichting Privacy Claim) is a foundation that stands up for consumers who are victimised by data breaches. The foundation represents groups of consumers whose specific data have been published or otherwise unlawfully used.
Method
The foundation sends a summons letter to the party responsible for the data breach summoning them to compensate the group for damages. Next, they will consult with the responsible party about the amount of the damage.
If this is unsuccessful, the foundation can start a collective lawsuit.
