In a fishing expedition, a seizure of evidence is requested by a party on an unspecified large amount of (possible) evidence. The purpose of this is to search and “fish” for useful evidence in these documents.

Prohibited

Such a “fishing expedition” is not allowed. To prevent this, it must be clearly and precisely described in the petition what evidence the party wants to seize.
