Defendant

The party of the defendant is the counterparty to the claimant in a claim procedure or of the applicant in a claim procedure. This used to be called the accused in a subpoena. Nowadays (since the introduction of the new Civil Procedural Law (KEI program)) this has been levelled and the other party is therefore called the defendant.
