Black List

The internet is bursting with spam. Many people and websites, therefore, use a “blacklist” that lists people whose access is being blocked. Websites that use such a “blacklist” may run into the GDPR: after all, such a “blacklist” is also the processing of personal data. In some cases, having such a “blacklist” is warranted, but this requires a case-by-case consideration between the website’s blacklisting and the user’s privacy concerns.

Has your company or organization been fined by the Dutch Data Protection Authority for having a “blacklist”? Or is there a conflict with another party about the protection of personal data (such as regarding having a “blacklist”)? Call or email directly with privacy lawyer Wouter Dammers of LAWFOX Advocatuur.
