Open – Source

Open-source software is software whose source code is freely accessible. The software may be freely distributed and anyone may improve or optimize the software.

Licenses

The fact that the software may be freely distributed and that the source code is freely accessible does not automatically mean that the software is not protected at all. Often there are indeed license conditions that must be observed. These open-source licenses often require, among other things, that the name of the developer must be stated and that changes made must be clearly indicated.
