Seizure

In some cases, a creditor can “seize” the debtor’s assets. There are different types of these attachments. For example, a distinction can be made between precautionary attachment and executory attachment. The conditions for attachment differ per type of attachment.

Types of Goods

A seizure can be placed on various types of goods. Attachment can be placed on movable or immovable property. It is also possible to seize a debtor’s claim against a third party: the third-party attachment.

Seizure of Evidence

It is also possible to seize material that can serve as evidence in a case. This is called a seizure of evidence.
