Usufruct

Usufruct is the limited right to use another person’s property and enjoy its fruits. Because the other person remains the owner of the property, it is a limited right.

Examples of Usufruct

In principle, a right of usufruct can be established on any property. The classic example of usufruct is the apple tree whose fruits may be eaten by the other. A usufruct can also be established on shares. So, for example, the usufructuary is then entitled to the fruits of those shares (the dividend).
