A legal act that has not been properly concluded is “null and void”. When this is the case is regulated by law.
Consequence of Nullity
The consequence of a void legal act is that it is deemed never to have existed and therefore has no legal consequences. The invalidity of a legal act does not need to be invoked. Nullity – unlike voidability – arises by operation of law.
