In the last issue of the Advocatenblad (Volume 100 | 2020 | 6), attention is paid to office management software Lupl. Three international law firms – including CMS – are working with a number of legal departments of large companies on this new platform to make file building and communication with clients smoother. I have been asked whether this fills a gap in the market or not.
I then indicated that I believe Lupl does not add much to what is currently available on the market.
An online place for synchronization and sharing of customer files.
We ourselves work with Clio, for example, through which we can access all information via laptop, smartphone or tablet. Contact details, documents, e-mails, telephone notes, invoices and the like are thus available to anyone with the necessary rights. This can also be shared with customers. Of course, this is equipped with all kinds of safeguards to guarantee the confidentiality of documents.
Linking Clio with Exact online and other online services
Clio synchronizes all kinds of documents from different cloud environments in one central place. The advantage of Clio is also that it has an open API functionality. As a result, Clio is also integrated in our email environment, for example, making it easy to log emails in files.
We also had our own API built to link to our accounting program Exact Online. As a result, invoices created in Clio are automatically posted in Exact Online, payments that arrive in our bank account are directly linked to the relevant bookings, and we can see in Clio when which invoice was paid by which client. In short: this is fully automatic and saves our accountant and accountant a lot of work.

In the Advocatenblad I report the following about this:
