Wouter Dammers

Wouter is not only an IT lawyer but also the founder of LAWFOX. He has been a lawyer since 2009 and specializes in (failed) IT projects, software copyright, web3 (NFTs, crypto, blockchain), online human rights and privacy law. Customers describe his work as practical, flexible and professional. Wouter studied Law & Technology (cum laude) and International and European Public Law at Tilburg University. He is a member of various trade unions, such as VIRA (IT law) and VPR-A (privacy law). Wouter is also a member and former board member of VIRA.

Chantal van den Engel

After her bachelor’s degree in Law & Economics in Leiden, Chantal studied Civil Law in Leiden and Information Law at the UvA, she finished those masters with an 8.5 and 8 for her theses. In a year between her bachelor’s and masters, she applied for additional courses at the University of Vienna and did internships at various law firms. During her masters, she gained work experience with the judiciary.

Outside of work, Chantal is busy playing the violin and can often be spotted at a concert or museum.

Nick Vrugt LAWFOX

Nick Vrugt

Haarlem-based Nick works as an ICT and IP attorney at LAWFOX. After a three-month student internship, he has been one of the permanent faces of the law firm since 2016. He has been an attorney since 2018. The ambitious attorney completed the bachelor’s degree in Law and followed the masters in Private Law and Internet and Intellectual Property and ICT. Nick focuses on litigation, drafting legal documents and answering client questions. He also regularly writes blogs on the LAWFOX website.

Outside his work as an attorney, Nick really enjoys sports, including running. He also enjoys reading, for example during the train ride from Haarlem to Tilburg.

Sjors van der Hoeven LAWFOX

Sjors van der Hoeven

After successfully completing the Business Economics and Law & Technology programs (Tilburg University; average grade 8), Sjors van der Hoeven started his career in commercial business law. After years of running his own firm Kompas, he has been a partner at LAWFOX since 2019. He works for satisfied customers throughout the Netherlands, mostly in the field of intellectual property, internet and ICT-related legal issues.

The starting point of every case is a thorough and expert analysis of your legal position, and of the (commercial) interests that you and your other party have to deal with. Based on that analysis, Sjors will determine the strategy to be used with you, and you will know exactly where you stand before a project is started.

Outside of his work as a lawyer, Sjors enjoys running, playing a fanatic game of (indoor) football, is a winter sports fanatic, and likes to spend time with his young family.

Daniël Sterenborg

Daniël is a paralegal at LAWFOX Advocaten. Since 2008 he specializes in intellectual property law: copyright, trademark law, trade name law. Daniël previously was the editor(in-chief) of legal IP blogs of the Netherlands and Belgium at IE-Forum.nl / IE-Forum.be / ITenRecht.nl. He has also used his knowledge to improve legal data analyse software Lexalyse. Daniël completed the Master International and European Law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam with in-depth courses from other universities. Because of his international internships and additional activities, he speaks Legal Dutch, English and German. Lacrosse is the team sport he practices and promotes in the Southwest Netherlands region.

Anna Sophie Hell

Anna is a talented and ambitious German student at Tilburg University where she is currently studying Global Law. In summer 2020, she successfully finished a six – week internship at Lawfox and afterwards stayed with us as a student trainee. Anna is Lawfox’s Jack of all trades. Anna supports the Lawyers of Lawfox with all kinds of administrative, research and translation matters.
