What is your Job at LAWFOX?

“My working day at LAWFOX consists of various tasks. I answer IT-related questions from clients and help them resolve legal disputes. I also regularly write legal articles or blogs for the website. ”

What Type of Lawyer are you?

“People describe me as calm, precise and fast. These are three important qualities you need as a lawyer. I also like to be helpful. Does a customer have a question? Then I’ll get to the bottom of it. At LAWFOX, we place great importance on accessibility. ”

What is a Persistent Misunderstanding about Internet Law?

“People think that many photos on the internet are free to use, such as on Facebook. However, that is not true. You cannot steal offline, so you cannot steal online. And many people do not know that you cannot have ownership on data. Although in physical matters, data is not tangible. This regularly creates legal friction. ”

What do you enjoy as being a Lawyer?

“A while ago I was involved in a case in which a website builder had taken unsolicited photos from the internet. The photographer sent a letter to the website builder. In it, he demanded a substantial amount of more than 50,000 euros. Then with LAWFOX, we managed to limit the compensation to 700 euros. I see that as great victories: for the customer and for us. ”

What makes Internet Law so Interesting?

“It is still an unexplored area. Laws drawn up long ago must be applied to new technology. I find it interesting to follow these developments closely. It also feels like a rewarding task to help companies. People often get unnecessarily stressed when they have legal problems. They immediately think doomed. With our knowledge, we allay many of their concerns. ”
