Wouter Dammers, what Type of Lawyer are you?

“A practical, curious and non-conventional lawyer. I am not as corporate as most lawyers. I find accessibility important. My curiosity makes me informed, but I’m no “more” than my customers. “

What makes Internet Law so Interesting?

“ICT is in full motion, while the law is very static. I find that contrast interesting. Many laws were invented long ago. Even though the internet has been around for quite some time, internet law is still in its start. In many areas, it has not yet crystallized. That makes my work fun and difficult at the same time. ”

What was your first Experience with ICT?

“We used to have a PC at home in the past. As a little boy, I found that very interesting. When we had the internet, I started building websites. I wanted to know exactly how it all worked. At the age of fourteen, I had my first mobile phone. A clumsy device with a green-black screen that only fit two lines of text. You cannot imagine that now. ”

What do you like about the Legal Profession?

“As a lawyer, you solve problems for people who cannot solve them themselves. So you really are the helping hand of a company. I want to matter to my customers, make them better. That makes my profession so fascinating. ”

What would you like to Achieve with LAWFOX?

“That we will become the largest ICT / IP litigation law firm in North Brabant. And perhaps among the largest in the Netherlands. That sounds great. And yes, I am ambitious. ”

What are you most Proud of?

“Every case I win. There are many. But I also see settling a business for the benefit of the customer as winning. You cannot achieve everything by being proven right in court. ”
